And so it begins...

Here I am. Officially. Not on Facebook. Not just word of mouth. I now have my own website, and I cannot believe it!

Photography has been something I have loved since I can remember. I have always enjoyed looking at photos of my family and I treasure our family collections. When I was in high school, a few "coffee table" photography books were on the top of my Christmas list before anything else.

In 2005 I asked my parents to both chip in and buy me my first digital SLR for Christmas, and they went for it! I started shooting with a Nikon D70 and I loved it. Ever since then, I have read and studied and worked on getting to know my cameras. I have purchased new lenses, new gadgets, new cameras...It can get to be addicting.

Photography is a hobby that I love and it has turned into a small business that I work on in and around my primary job: high school choir teacher. It just so happens that my day job has helped push my photography hobby forward. A few years ago, a couple of my seniors asked if I would do their photos and I was beyond honored. Since then, my summers have been full of senior photo sessions!

Because I was getting so many requests for senior photos, my friends and family started to notice my work, and now I'm happy to say that many of my friends have hired me as their family photographer. (I even got to photograph my brother's wedding!)

Shooting the people I know and love is one of my favorite parts about this! Being at ease with one another helps to bring around those natural interactions and smiles that I really strive to capture in my photography.

I hope you enjoy!
